Dorien van Alewijk is a psychologist in training to become both a BIG-registered healthcare psychologist (in Dutch: GZ-psycholoog) and a cognitive behavioral therapist VGCT®. In 2016, she completed her Masters in clincial psychology and sports & performance psychology at the University of Amsterdam. She has experience in treating various psychological problems, such as mood and anxiety disorders, trauma/stress-related problems and low self-esteem. Next to psychological treatment, Dorien also experiences in sports psychology, including the supervising and coaching of (top-class) athletes. During individual treatment, Dorien uses EMDR in addition to cognitive behavioral therapy and applies elements from schema-focused therapy and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). She is also the group psychologist for our G-training group.
Dorien works at our location in the city centre on Monday afternoons/evenings and Tuesdays, and works at our location in Amsterdam West on Wednesdays. On Thursdays she works from home (videocalling).
