Intake stop VGZ

You have your Health Care Insurance from VGZ (or one of its labels)? We are sorry to inform you that we are currently unable to offer you treatment. Prior to each new calendar year, VGZ determines the budget that we can offer treatment for. Unfortunately we have now already reached the maximum budget, which is why we cannot offer you any treatment. We requested an increase in budget with VGZ, however, this has been rejected. The health care insurer has been notified of our intake stop and has asked us to refer you to ‘Zorgadvies en Bemiddeling’ (care advice and mediation). They will find you an appropriate alternative. You will find their contact details below.

https://www.vgz.nl/zorg-regelen/zorgadvies
Phone number: 088-131 16 11
on weekdays from 09:00 - 13:00 hour.

When you contact Zorgbemiddeling, tell them you wish to receive mental health care and that Grip has reached the limit of its budget. Zorgbemiddeling will then try to find alternative care in your region. You can point out that you wish to visit a therapist within a 15 km range from your place of residence, and that has a waiting list of maximum six weeks.
Alternatively, you can try registering with another psychology practice in the area. Do take into account that this practise may also have a waiting list, and could therefore also almost reach, of have already reached, the end of their budget. We advise you to contact them fist, to avoid disappointment.

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

Current waiting times/health insurers

Typically, Grip Psychologen can arrange an intake session as well as further treatment within a reasonable amount of time. We try to prevent waiting lists as much as possible, however, unfortunately we can not always live up to that. It may happen that waiting times for an intake session are longer than usual or waiting times between the intake and the start of the treatment apply. This is however not necessarily the case. The waiting time for online treatment is usually shorter.

Waiting times may vary per healthcare insurer, due to the required spreading of our budget per insurer over the course of the year.

If you are already on the waiting list and have any questions about your place on the waiting list, you can always contact us by phone (085-0471147).

The waiting time is affected by several factors

The waiting time starts with our confirmation of your registrations and runs upto your treatment. We aim to start the treatment within 12 weeks after your registration.

Are you flexible in time and location? Then in general the treatment will start sooner.

Do you have a number of preferences? Then the waiting time will increase in order to meet your needs. You can specify your choices on the registration form.

We do not have a lot of evening spots, which means that waiting times for screening intake and start of treatment can take longer.

Waiting list mediation

If you think our waiting times are too long, please contact your healthcare insurer and ask for waiting list mediation. Your insurer should be able to provide you a placement for intake within a maximum of 4 weeks after your first contact with a healthcare provider, and full treatment within a maximum of 10 weeks after intake. These are the maximum acceptable waiting times that have been jointly agreed on by care providers and healthcare insurers (the so-called 'treeknormen' in Dutch) (Nederlandse Zorg Autoriteit, 2016).

For so-called non-refundable healthcare or in case of paying for treatment yourself, we can welcome you at Grip Psychologen at any time.

Our tips for bridging the waiting time

  • While you are on the waiting list we grant you access to the module First Steps to Recovery on e-health platform Therapieland. This module gives you some initial tools to improve your sleep, reduce worrying, help with relaxation and difficult emotions.

  • Contact your GP's practice to make an appointment with the health care practice nurse (POH-GGZ). The POH-GGZ cannot treat you but can offer you support to manage the waiting time.
